Cookies are small pieces of text data that are saved into visitor's computer. When visitor clicks on a banner or link, the small information containing affiliate and banner is saved into cookie. Later, when customer makes a purchase, the cookie is checked and if it contains the affiliate (who referred the customer), system generates appropriate commission for this affiliate.
